Our referrals


We work with children between the ages of 5 and 12 years who may be experiencing social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. Many children come referred through local schools but we also accept referrals from children's services and other agencies working with children and families. When funds allow, it can be possible for parents to refer directly.

Children suitable for referrals 


Those experiencing:

  • Emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Family problems
  • Bereavement issues
  • Social and communication problems
  • Under achievement at school
  • Parental drug, alcohol or mental health problems
  • Domestic violence
  • Abuse, bullying or trauma
  • Risk of exclusion
  • Displacement 
  • Looked after children
  • Gender identity dysphoria

How does it help?


  • It helps children gain insight into their own difficulties
  • Understand their emotions
  • Find ways to come to terms with their experiences
  • Understand themselves better in relation to others
  • Improve understanding of the child within the family
  • Provide a psychological thinking space for teams around the child

Sessions are run through school term times Monday to Friday by arrangement.

School group sessions are negotiable.
