Our Healthy Living Course

Our healthy living course is always a hit with our parents! We offer healthy cooking sessions and there are also opportunities for exercise classes.

In our healthy eating sessions, our staff teach families how to make nutritional and balanced meals for their families on a budget. If you're stuck on what to make in the kitchen (or cooking is not your strongest skillset) - don't worry! Our course offers simple delicious meals that don't require you to be a whizz in the kitchen. After these sessions, we prepare a diverse range of meals which we can be shared to the whole centre at St. Vincent's Family Project.

How is it beneficial?

  • It educates parents about the effect of food and nutrition has on the health of your mind and body.
  • Improves the diet of the whole family.
  • Teaches parents how to cook and prepare healthy, nutritious, affordable simple meals.
  • Supports and motivates people and their families in the process of changing their diet to more healthier choices and balanced diet.
  • Encourages parents to prepare and cook food with their children and eat at the same time.
  • Parents learn food hygiene and safety tips.

Healthy Baking Sessions for the kids

Our children are also taught how to cook various easy recipes in our Monday crèche sessions. This aims to improve children's relationship with food so that they feel confident and comfortable exploring new foods.
